ELEPHONE U2

ELEPHONE U2

With the software, the U2 Elewhone is unfortunately not quite as "shiny" as with the previous points.Although an Android 9 Pie is still used here, an still current Android version has also been used and Elewhone has also made an effort to adapt the system a little (own launcher and full screen gestures), but there are also various weaknesses. On the one hand, the outdated security patch should be mentioned, which even after the last OTA update (as of 17.September 2019) is still at the stand of April 2019.In addition, the smartphone lacks Google certification, which is not so dramatic in this case, since there is no NFC on board and Google Pay is not usable either way.The lack of Widevine Level 1 support is more disturbing. In addition, the current version of the software suffers from an annoying bug, which occasionally brings the UI system to crash and then makes it necessary to unlock again. In our test device, these crashes occurred at least once a day, mostly after a notification has been received.Sometimes the crashes occur several times in a row until there is rest again.
