Each of the main topics in the graphics is based on certain terms or parts of terms that were used to search the tweets. For example, for the topic "climate change", the tweets of the members of the Bundestag were searched using the words "climate change", "climate protection" and "climate crisis". If a tweet contains several of these terms, it still only counts as one mention. The number of tweets was then set in relation to the number of all tweets published by members of the Bundestag in the past one or two weeks. However, this also means that certain topics could be included in the graphic "What are the members of parliament tweeting about?" be overrepresented due to a single party alone. For example, if the left tweets a lot about unemployment on a particular day, the value could go up - without the other parties having even dealt with the topic. A comparison with other parties is therefore helpful when interpreting the data ("What are the parties tweeting about?").
